Launchpads and bonding curves on Robinhood Chain.

Most coins here start on a launchpad. Some go straight into a pool; others start on a bonding curve and move to a pool when they graduate. Where a coin is decides how its price moves.

Two ways a coin launches.

Bonding curve
Flap and Pons: the coin trades against the launchpad’s contract until it graduates
Straight into a pool
Doppler, Clanker and Pools.trade: the coin opens in a pool, and trades there from the first block

How a curve works.

A bonding curve is a price formula held by the launchpad’s contract. Every buy raises the price a step, every sale lowers it; there is no order book and no one on the other side but the contract. The curve has a target. Once buys have raised enough to reach it, the coin graduates: the launchpad moves it into a pool, and from then on it trades there like any other coin.

On a coin still on its curve, the coin page shows how far it is to graduation, when the launchpad’s figures can be read.

Close to graduation is not a signal.A coin near its target can still be sold back down the curve. Graduating moves where it trades, nothing else.

On Uprally.

Home and Explore mark each coin On launchpad (on its curve) or Open market (in a pool), and Home’s Graduated tab lists the coins that moved to a pool in the last day. You buy either kind the same way, with ETH, from its page: buy and sell a coin.

Common questions.

Is a curve coin safer?
No. It is a different market, not a safer one. Read who holds it either way: bundles and snipers buy on curves too.
Why did the price jump at graduation?
Its trading moved from the curve to a pool, where the price is set by what is in the pool and by who trades it.
Why do pool coins show “Open market” from launch?
They never had a curve: they opened in a pool.
