Before you buy

Four things to look at on a token’s page, and what each one tells you. The example is $COVENANT.

In 30 seconds

- Match the address, never the ticker: copies are common.
- Who holds it, whether its contract is published and can be changed, and how it launched.
- Or let the token checker read all of it for you.

## Open the token.

Blockscout for Robinhood Chain is at [robinhoodchain.blockscout.com](https://robinhoodchain.blockscout.com/). Paste the token’s contract address into its search. $COVENANT’s is:

`0xcd2c8ca6789ccec87b7358e916878e2a2a57de79`

## What to look at.

1. 1The address, not the ticker
Anyone can launch a coin with any name and ticker, and several coins on the chain share the same ticker. Only the address is unique: match it to the one on the coin’s Uprally page.
2. 2Its holders
The list of wallets that hold it. A pool or a launchpad’s curve contract near the top is normal: that is where the coins people trade sit. One plain wallet holding a large share is not.
3. 3Its contract
Whether its source code is published and verified, so anyone can read what it does, and whether it is a proxy, which means its code can be swapped after launch.
4. 4How it launched
The transaction that created it: which wallet deployed it, and who else got coins in that same transaction or the blocks right after it. That is what a [bundled launch](https://uprally.co/docs/bundled-launches) looks like.

**Or skip the reading.**The [token checker](https://uprally.co/tools/token-checker) reads the contract, the holders and the launch block for you, and says plainly what it hasn’t checked.

## Common questions.

**Is Blockscout the only explorer?**

No. Robinhood Chain also has an Etherscan explorer, robin.etherscan.io, which Uprally’s own links open. Both read the same chain.

**The contract isn’t verified. Is that bad?**

It means nobody can read its code there. Not proof of anything, but you are trusting what you can’t see.

**Why does a pool hold so much?**

Coins for sale sit in the pool or on the curve. That share is the market, not a person.
